Have you ever felt something pulling you in one certain direction even though you have no explanation for it? It’s one of those inspired feelings that says, without a doubt, it’s perfect for you AND will take you way out of your comfort zone.
Well, I’ve had that feeling all year.
My inspired feeling?
I knew I needed to go to a live event this year as part of my personal and business development, (don’t you just love when you can get both done with one event?).
This past weekend I attended Lisa Sasevich’s, Speak To Sell Live Event, in Tampa, Florida.
Over 500 people converged at the Grand Hyatt Hotel for three straight days.
As with most live events, connections were made, lives were changed and credit cards were being pulled out even more than cell phones.
For me personally it was just the inspired boost I needed to continue growing in my business and my personal life.
The most inspirational person I met this weekend
The most selfless person I met this weekend was named Peggy. Peggy has an amazing story and is the owner/operator of Faces of Courage. It’s a non-profit organization that sends women and children, that have cancer, to camp. (Definitely check out Faces of Courage and Peggy’s remarkable story.)
This isn’t just any camp though. It’s a camp that allows cancer patients, for an entire week, to feel normal and experience new adventures, often for the first time ever.
It’s run completely by volunteer doctors, nurses and camp counselors.
We were asked to join together, as an agent of change, to raise $50,000 for this life-altering charity.
Guess what?
Together, as a collective group, we raised $62,000.
That’s enough to send one women’s group and one teen group to camp for a week AND have $12,000 leftover to go toward another group.
Yay! I’m so proud of what our group accomplished.
The most important business lesson I can pass along to you.
Now let’s transition to you. I want to discuss why staying in your comfort zone is costing you sales and a disservice to your future clients.
This isn’t going to be a rah-rah message… rather an eye-witness account of a culture where getting out of your comfort zone is mandatory.
Let me explain.
Over the course of three days, three official offers were made.
One of the program offers was an impressive $100,000. Yes, you read that right. No typo… an offer to purchase a spot in this one particular program would cost you $100,000 to join.
The offer was made with confidence, without apology and you know what else… I personally know of three people that took the offer and joined the program.
This really got me thinking about you and your program pricing.
When my clients work more closely with me one of the blocks we typically work on relates to program pricing. Ninety-nine percent of the time I’m explaining why they need to increase their pricing to a price point that is more suitable for the content and support they are providing.
I can tell you that it really pushes them OUT of their comfort zone.
And it should!!!!
That means they are growing and getting more confident in their area of expertise.
This comfort zone thing is a two-way road
So what happens when you, as solopreneur, claim your worth, increase your fees and offer it to your ideal dream clients?
A miracle of sorts is in the works, that’s what!
When you allow yourself the opportunity to finally get paid what you’re worth, you attract the people that are meant to be your dream clients AND will want YOU to push them out of their comfort zone also.
Yes, that’s the truth. When you price your program too low you can often be turning off your dream clients because they are thinking that there is no way your program could contain what they need to heal/grow/improve if it only costs $97.
What happens when you raise your program price?
The most amazing thing happens.
You begin to attract the people that truly want your help. They want what you have to offer and they are willing to pay for it.
Most importantly, they are committed.
Have you ever noticed when you give your services away for free or slightly above free the client is needy, whiny and often frustrating?
While the clients that pay more are structured, thoughtful in their needs and are a joy to work with?
That’s the difference between being committed, or not committed, to their own improvement.
Pricing is a form of automatically weeding through the people that aren’t serious about getting the results they say they want.
I’m guessing that you are having an “aha” moment right now!
Over $1,000,000 in sales was made this weekend. Entrepreneurs generated revenue. Clients’ needs were met. Charities were funded.
All because each of us took a leap of faith and stepped outside of our comfort zone to take one step closer to our destiny.
If you have a time when you stepped out of your comfort zone and found yourself growing in ways you never imagined, please share with me in the comments section below.
Coming to you from outside the comfort zone…
