Happy New Year and welcome to 2019 my friend!
Can I share something private with you that I’ve only shared with my closest friends and colleagues?
Awesome! Here’s my story…
During 2016 and early 2017 I felt like I had hit a plateau in my business.
A plateau that was directly connected to my own mindset and perspective about growing my business.
It felt stifling.
Kinda like I had a 2-ton elephant sitting on my chest, (I’m not sure elephants weigh that much but for this story it makes perfect sense.)
It wasn’t until I took a step back from my business that I started to see things clearly.
My epiphany…
I was building a business that I didn’t love. Not only didn’t I love it, I didn’t even like it all that much.
Let me tell you, that was a tough pill to swallow.
How the hell did I let that happen?
In a nutshell, it happened because I ignored my gut and instead tried to follow what all the business gurus were saying. #majorfail
The next steps that I took were painful, and in some cases humiliating, because I had to admit that I had been doing it all wrong… at least for me anyway.
Fast forward to January 1, 2018, when I made one serious promise to myself.
Everything I did in my business would be put to the test.
A “joy and happiness” test.
If it wasn’t going to bring me joy and happiness I was going to say NO.
And guess what!
I said NO, NO, and NO to a lot of opportunities last year.
But the great news is I was happier and more profitable than ever before which in my mind was worth the bumpy road it took to get there.
Which brings me to today, January 1st, 2019, and the brand new podcast episode that went live today.
To ring in the New Year, Kathleen and I wanted to have an open conversation about our past year as a way of setting you up for success. We’re leading by example.
During this episode we engage in a series of questions that we’re hoping you too will work through after listening to this episode.
Inside you’ll hear us discuss 5 Year-in-Review questions and 5 Year-Ahead questions. I promise it’ll be worth the time for you to do this exercise because business is a combination of mindset and strategy. I’m living proof that when you get that right anything is possible.
That’s what we want to help you define for your business in 2019.
Oh, and by the way, during this episode we share a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT about something we have planned this year that will help you grow the business of your dreams.
Let’s dive in.
