Today I’m hoping you’ll celebrate with me the completion of 100 episodes of my video blog KarenPattock.TV.

It’s been a wild and crazy journey that’s proved to teach me a lesson or two… or in this case 10, about consistency in my business.

Come inside my experience and listen as I share my top 10 takeaways and how you can apply them to your business, (and make things a heck of a lot easier too).

So can you believe it? This is the 100th episode of KarenPattock.TV. It feels amazing to be crossing the 100th episode mark. It has been a journey for sure. So much blood, sweat and tears, (and I’m sure a few gray hairs), has gone into creating this platform for you.

Today I want to share 10 lessons I’ve learned along the way that will hopefully inspire you to go for your dreams and never let anything stand in your way of creating a business and life that you love.

Are you ready? Here we go!!!

Lesson #1: Launch even when it’s not perfect.

When I first started KarenPattock.TV I was a one woman show. I researched, recorded, edited, uploaded and promoted each and every episode for the first year all by myself. I knew it wasn’t perfect but I knew if I didn’t hit that imperfect GO button, I may never launch.

Lesson #2: Bell’s & whistles can be added in down the road.

So as I mentioned, in the beginning I did everything myself. There were no bells and whistles. No fancy graphics. No fancy equipment. (I started with just my ipad) But I posted each episode and the information really resonated with my audience. I was making an impact.

Lesson #3: Content doesn’t matter as much as consistency.

In the beginning I thought each episode needed to be like a 60 minutes episode. The content always needed to be cutting edge and mind blowing. After a while it became perfectly clear that my followers were more interested in receiving an episode every week and not as much interested about an epic video.

Lesson #4: Get targeted help because it’s worth the investment.

My first hire was right around the one year anniversary mark and he was a local high school student. We learned together and he’s still my video editor today. He was thrilled because he could make money doing what he loved and I was thrilled to have someone local to do my editing.

Lesson #5: Upgrade equipment once, and only once, your budget will allow.

As I grew my business and started to make more money I was able to invest in microphones, lighting and a dslr camera. But I never let my lack of fancy equipment hold me back.

Lesson #6: Don’t be so hard on yourself… you notice more than others will.

I did it imperfectly every step of the way and I’m proud that I took action. I had to overlook crazy hair days, stumbling words and funny faces all in the name of consistency. I realized that I was my own worst critic.

Lesson #7: Setting specific goals for each episode is imperative.

In the beginning each episode was kind of a like “what do I feel like talking about today” kind of deal. Now I plan my episode content weeks in advance and coordinate it with upcoming events and promotions. Each episode has a specific goal in mind AND a specific list building opportunity.

Lesson #8: Always share an action item for each episode.

I realized around episode 60 that I needed to include a call-to-action with each episode. That was the best way to serve my viewers. I had been missing an amazing opportunity to further impact my audience. Once I added specific action items the videos had a much better flow and were making an even bigger impact.

Lesson #9: Be patient and trust the process.

If I would’ve tried to make my first episode perfect I would have never made it past the starting gate. I knew this platform would evolve and grow if I gave it the opportunity and I’m here to tell you it’s only getting better with age.

Lesson #10: Keep going even when it feels like you aren’t seeing results.

There have been times along the way when I wonder if my videos are making an impact and each time I feel that way inevitably I’ll receive an email or speak to someone that says, “I love your KarenPattock.TV videos” or “I always watch your videos… they are amazing”. With the power of consistency and dedication my videos have now had over 13,000 views on YouTube.

There you have it. 10 lessons I’ve learned from producing,
recording and promoting 100 episodes of KarenPattock.TV.

I truly appreciate all of your support along the way. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it without you. Thanks and Have a great week.
