Productivity Hacks Episode 14This week’s episode of The Wellness Business Podcast is in direct response to one of our listeners frustrations.

Here’s what she had to say:

“The problem is, I have discovered that having un-restricted time is an incredibly dangerous thing and I think I’ve gotten way to comfortable. As a result, I have become my own worst enemy. I have zero structure in my day and I don’t get anything done. I do little things everyday (an IG post here, a free consultation call there) but I am not able to follow the set schedule I have planned for myself and don’t work on anything CONSISTENTLY. I truly believe I am 100% serious about health coaching, yet my actions say otherwise, and I don’t know what my problem is. I want to be putting in at least 8 hours a day working, but I do not treat my job like a real job!”

Do you ever start your day with big plans to get things done for your business, only to find by the end of the day, you’ve been ‘busy’ but haven’t made much progress? Have you ever thought “OMG, I didn’t get anything done that I wanted to do!”

I know this scenario all too well because this used to happen to me more often than I’d like to admit, and it’s extremely frustrating.

There are three main reasons why businesses get off to a rocky productivity start:

1) Grandiose ideas of what your business will be, with no real action plan in place for that to happen.

2) Not focusing on the highest priority actions and tasks (that will bring the biggest results)

3) Feeling overwhelmed with no real direction

Let’s face it; we ALL have more distractions and interruptions than ever before, so it’s no big surprise this is a struggle. When you find easy ways to combat those distractions, and you have a formula for getting the most important things done in your day, you’ll be amazed at the progress you can make in as little as 30 days.

It’s taken a long, long time for me to feel like I’m actually productive most days, (notice I didn’t say every day). It’s a process and each person has a unique psychology. It’s tapping into your own methodology that will change the amount you can accomplish in any given day.
